I went out on opening day for trout here in New Jersey, but fishing was slow for stockers, so I decided to try for some wild trout instead. Had a good time with a bunch of brook trout, New Jersey's state fish, and our only native trout. All fish released successfully.

Suburban Trout Fishing - Fall Rainbows

Trout fishing on a November evening in New Jersey. New Jersey's fall trout stocking program supplies year and a half or older fish for several rivers and ponds each year. These fish will hold over through the winter and provide much nicer fight than the smaller spring stocked trout.

    Just a heads up on these.....the D-shaft is so tight on most of these timers, the knob fails. New knob? The D-shaft strips. New timer and knob? 50/50 crap shoot. These are infuriating. Bring back the metal D-shaft!

      Was around Flynn's Knoll. Yep, in the Duranautic. Love the boat. She's been all over... 5 miles off Manasquan fishing the reefs, over 400' of water on Lake Champlain, and everything in between.

    I know this is an old vid…..but it’s new to me…..lol. I have a Duranautic 16 with the side console and an Evinrude etec 30 on it. With a 12 pitch prop I’m hitting just a tad over 28 mph. I love this boat……..easy on the wallet at the gas station and just enough speed to not be annoying. Do. You still have it? Keep that Evinrude running because they closed up shop.

    • @JerseyTom
      @JerseyTom 2 місяці тому

      the etec 30 sounds like a great combo for the boat. your 30 is measured at the prop and my 35 at the engine, so probably about the same power, but you're doing it on way less fuel and noise i'm sure! wanted an etec, but didn't jump on the chance before they were gone and now everything in the same power range is about 100 pounds heavier than this motor. still fish it and yep i try to keep up on the maintenance as much as i can to give it the best chances. i run the xd100 oil from the etecs for my premix, nice synthetic protection and just about smokeless.

    Hi, and thank you for your video. I need to pass the end of my cord through a hole in a stopper. I can't get the exact sizes to marry them up together. I can't find the stoppers at the correct size or the thickness of the cord to fit through the stopper. This is a task I will have to repeat twice on each bit of cord, and I need to make up 10 cords a day as part of a process. I would also like to ask you, and I am a complete novice at this. How would you advise on how to permanently join together two identical cords together side by side. Thank you, very much.

    You cut the middle of the tape so you have both ends prepared. The end of the remaining spool as well. Obvious once you try the method anyway.

    Washer is a mistake, stops rivet from expanding to the aluminum hull.

    • @JerseyTom
      @JerseyTom 2 роки тому

      The matching rivet washer inner diameter is the same as the hole in the hull is drilled to, so it does not stop the rivet from expanding. It acts as a doubler and strengthens the area, reducing the chance of future leaks.

    Hi, this was good, simple, clear. I was just wondering if you had any tips for a not strong person to cut a thick rope without having to buy specialised tools? Thanks

    • @seanseoltoir
      @seanseoltoir Рік тому

      It is going to depend upon how thick it is and whether it is natural or synthetic fibers... With natural fibers, you are not going to be using the technique in this video... With synthetic fibers, you don't have to have a perfect cut through the masking table since the propane torch will melt the fibers and if you do it right, it will make a pool of the molten synthetic material in the masking table end. You can also make a hot wire cutter from some nichrome wire (either bought directly or salvaged from an old hair dryer). I've made one from the wire from a hair dryer with an 18650 battery for a power supply... Also, heating up a cheap flatware type knife in a cooktop burner flame and using it to melt through the fibers will work...

I have a boat to go on lakes, but I would also like to take a few days in rivers exactly like you're doing! Do you have any tips/tricks or even spots where I could get the best luck out there? I'd really appreciate it!! Where is this exactly on the Black River? Would trout be bigger near Champlain Lake?

    Wack em; you need to keep them in check. Wait till fawns are born. DNR introduced coyotes here in my State because the insurance companies want to keep deer collisions down so they introduce the coyote that hasn't been around here for a hundred years. I kill every one I see. Man from Ohio told me 20 years ago if you have coyotes kill everyone because they'll be coming for your pets small dogs and cats.
